Question 1

Is this the official EPSO test?

Accepted Answer

No. EU Test Simulator is an independent practice tool. It reproduces the formats, question counts and time limits published in EPSO notices of competition, but the questions are our own. EPSO's official sample tests are on the EU Careers website.

Question 2

Is it really free? Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and no. All tests on this site are free and you do not need to register. Your recent results are kept in your browser only. We are building a full preparation platform (verbal reasoning, EU knowledge, digital skills, situational judgement, field tests) and you can leave your email after a test to be notified.

Question 3

Where do the questions come from?

Accepted Answer

They are built from the same question models as the official tests: each type has a set of templates (percentage change, shares, per-capita values, compound growth; rotation, movement, counts and cycles for abstract reasoning; and so on) that are filled with randomised data. Every item is checked by computation and carries a worked explanation. Statistics shown in tables and charts are hypothetical.

Question 4

How close is the difficulty to the real test?

Accepted Answer

We calibrate on EPSO's published sample tests and on candidates' feedback. Each test mixes three difficulty levels. The timing is identical to the notices, which is usually what makes the difference on the day.

Question 5

Which competitions do these tests cover?

Accepted Answer

Numerical and abstract reasoning are part of every EPSO open competition and of CAST. Accuracy and precision and prioritising and organising are used for secretaries and clerks (AST-SC). See the competition calendar for what each current competition includes.

Question 6

Why is there no verbal reasoning test?

Accepted Answer

Verbal reasoning depends on carefully written passages, which we are producing and reviewing by hand. It is the first addition planned for the full version.

Question 7

Can I use a calculator?

Accepted Answer

Not in the real test, so we recommend not using one here either. Numerical items are designed to be solved with estimation and simple arithmetic within two minutes.

Question 8

What does the score mean?

Accepted Answer

The pass mark in EPSO reasoning tests is typically half of the available points (for example 10 out of 20 for numerical and abstract combined in the 2026 AD5 competition). The results page shows your score against that threshold and your time per question.

Question 9

Do you store my answers?

Accepted Answer

We store anonymous usage data (which test, which questions, correct or not, time per question) to improve the question bank. There is no account and we cannot link results to you. Your email is stored only if you ask to be notified. See the privacy policy.

Question 10

Can I use the site on a phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The real test is taken on a computer, though, so we recommend practising on a laptop or desktop at least for the timed simulations.
