Prioritising and organising: rules, tables and the only option that fits

5 min read · updated October 2026

Twenty-four items in thirty minutes: 75 seconds each. An item gives a table (connections, rooms, calendars, tasks with deadlines, prices) and a few rules, and asks for the only option that satisfies all of them: the cheapest connection that still arrives on time, the one room that fits the meeting, the task order that misses no deadline, the deadline counted in working days.

Method

  1. Turn the rules into numbers before touching the options: "arrive 30 minutes before a 10:00 meeting with a 20-minute transfer" means "arrival by 09:10".
  2. Eliminate options by the cheapest rule first (a capacity or a yes/no attribute), then apply the arithmetic rule to what is left.
  3. Watch for inclusive and exclusive wording: "at least", "no later than", "working days" (weekends and listed holidays excluded).
  4. When asked for "the cheapest" or "the latest", make sure the option you pick is feasible before comparing prices or times.

The timed test mirrors the official format.
